After suffering significant losses in combat under Snezhnoye, Saur-Mogila, Izvarino, and Metallist, and also taking the rout of the 24-th mechanized brigade under Zelenopolye into account, the junta quite predictably overcompensates against civilians. Mr. Poroshenko openly announced that for each killed punitive soldier they will kill 100 times as much. What he meant is shown in the videos below.

Effectively, the primitive extermination of the civilian population is going on, which the fascists were always good at. On the video there is yet another war crime, which became routine in Ukraine, because ethnocide in Ukraine became a part of the official policy of the fascist junta.
Of course, "the whole international community" pretty much ignores the events, even though some countries were bombed by the world hegemony into stone age for much less significant sins.
The Donetsk itself, as it was said before, will gradually turn into a front-line city, the outskirts of which will be inevitably subject to shelling, airstrikes, and will become the ground for fierce fighting. The closest analog – Sarajevo. Currently the junta is pulling artillery towards the city from under Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, in order to intensify attacks within the next 3-5 days. The MRLS in question, from which the Donetsk suburb was shelled, were deployed in 20 km from the city 1-2 days ago.
